An ethnic Neck sash is a long piece of clothing that is placed around the neck which is also known as a neck scarf.
Neck scarves worn mostly by grooms at African weddings are fast becoming the custom in African. Especially in Nigeria where Aso oke such as Alaari are mainly used as a neck scarf. this is the main three-stripe (Or called "Awe" in Yoruba language).

sometimes you find the brides father if he is from Ondo town in Ondo state Nigeria. This is just to show where the family hail from. Having this big sash around their neck shows that they are one of the most important people at the wedding occasion.
